Float Secretary

Jacobs & Reeves are looking for an experienced full-time Float Legal Secretary who has at least 5 year’s experience. Ideally experienced a variety of different departments or at least Family/Conveyancing.

You will be required to work across a range of departments and 2 busy offices to cover holiday and sickness as and when required. Travelling mileage will be paid inter office.

The role includes:-

  • Preparation of correspondence and other legal documents;

  • Taking messages;

  • Audio typing;

  • Diary Management

  • Including but not limited to:

  • Supporting the fee earner by ensuring all routine administrative processes are undertaken

  • Administration duties including daily filing, opening and closing files.

  • Liaising with clients, estate agents and mortgage lenders

  • Audi typing of letters, legal documents and forms largely dictated via digital dictation

  • Post Exchange, Completion and post-Completion formalities

  • Completing Form E, preparing bundles and legal aid work

  • Will/LPA preparation

The idea applicant should have:-

  • Experience of case management systems;

  • Good Audio typing skills;

  • Be very well organised and able to prioritise;

  • Have excellent attention to detail;

  • A helpful and can-do attitude.

Benefits:

  • Salary range is dependent on experience.

You will need to be able to handle a large volume of work and have fast and accurate typing skills, be very organised, have the ability to use your own initiative and will need to be able to work effectively under pressure.

Conveyancing Secretary

Jacobs & Reeves are looking to recruit an enthusiastic full-time experienced conveyancing secretary to join our extremely busy residential conveyancing department at our Poole Office.

Must possess fast accurate typing skills and be able to manage their own time.

The ability to work in a team and to provide excellent client care is essential.

Conveyancing Paralegal

Jacobs & Reeves are looking to recruit an enthusiastic full-time experienced conveyancing Paralegal to join our extremely busy conveyancing department at our Poole Office.

 

1 year minimum experience is required for this role.

 

The ability to work in a team and to provide excellent client care is essential.

You will be required to:-

  • Manage a varied caseload of Property transactions;

  • Managing files from instruction and prepare matters for completion;

  • Working with Estate agents and Solicitors;

  • Dealing with Client Care requirements;

  • Conducting registrations at HMLR;

  • Preparing Stamp Duty Return Forms;

  • Preparing Companies House Returns.

Residential Conveyancer

Jacobs & Reeves are looking for a full-time residential conveyancer to join our successful team based in our Poole office.

 

Our team has a full range of experience and expertise in both residential property and commercial property matters.

 

The ideal candidate  will have gained knowledge in all aspects of residential property including all types of freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, lease extensions, shared ownership, new-build properties, help to buy equity funding and  re-mortgages.

 

The candidate will be:-

  • Pro-active with good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;

  • Has a high level of attention to detail;

  • Has good organisational skills;

  • Has excellent client care skills;

Private Client Solicitor / Legal Executive

 

We are looking for a Private Client Solicitor / Legal Executive to join us as Head of the Private Client Department.

 

You will have your own case load of existing private client matters including trusts, tax planning matters, wills, estates, powers of attorney, court of protection, deputyship, 

 

We are looking for someone who is experienced and has the ability to work under pressure. 

 

You will be required to manage and lead the Private Client department and this role will include the following:-

 

  • Supervising junior members of the team, including reviewing workload

  • Initial consultations with clients;

  • Preparation of Wills, advice on Trusts, capacity, Inheritance Tax;

  • Advising on Lasting Powers of Attorney, dealing with applications and registrations;

  • Making applications for the grant of representation;

  • Assisting with new enquiries and speaking with clients via email and telephone;

  • Keeping your own files and the department well organised and compliant with the firm’s policies;

  • Achieving fees to meet monthly and yearly targets;

  • Attending team meetings and courses where appropriate;

  • Compliance with the firm’s standards and procedures.

The Candidate

 

Someone with 5 year + PQE level with a strong knowledge of administration of estates, tax and will drafting.  We require someone who is:-

 

  • Pro-active with good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;

  • Inspiring and motivational to others;

  • Has a high level of attention to detail and an enquiring mind;

  • Has good organisational skills; 

  • Has excellent client care skills

  • Is a keen team member, with the ability to accept responsibility and work on their own initiative

The possibility of remote working may be available, subject to being able to comply with the required level of supervision and leadership.
